Steph: No, the colour isn�t for everyone, but on Anne and in this style and cut, it works wonders. Chris, I love the almost architectural feel of this Lela Rose dress. It looks so meticulously structured and well thought out, I have no choice but to applaud its creator. The bold shot of chartreuse calls attention to the details of the dress that flair up at her waist and fall to the bottom of the hemline on one side. I like it. I think it�s interesting. Do you love it or hate it Chris?
Her Verdict: Style Winner

Christopher: Even while I type away at this week�s SWL I have to admit I am still not 100% sure if I truly love the colour of this Lela Rose dress that Anne is wearing. Is it orange? Is it yellow? The verdict may still be out on that, but I will agree with your comments on the side detailing of the dress Steph. Every regular reader will know I am just loving the dramatic folds and detailing that we have been seeing on the red carpet lately, and this little cocktail dress has just enough of them. That being said, it�s definitely not my fave dress of the week. In fact, it just passes in my opinion.

I see no chartreuse here. On Selita Ebanks (#5), I see yellowy green, but here I just see orange (okay, maybe yellowy orange).

In any event, it's definitely a difficult colour for pale-skinned people to pull off. I think Anne almost succeeds, but it still makes her look a bit washed out.

Yeah, on my computer screen, this dress does not read chartreuse. It's kind of a school bus colour...and that about sums up my feelings toward the colour of the dress. I like the architectural (or maybe even origami?) style but I think the colour doesn't do the dress or Anne any favours. She doesn't look bad, but I think a different colour would have knocked this look out of the park.

I would call this a soft pumpkin and the color is fantastic but not on her. I think someone with a darker skin tone could really pull this dress off.

Anne tends to stick to classic cuts and colors that she and everyone else knows will work for her. She is always reliably elegant, so it's nice to see her step outside her comfort range a bit with this warm color, even if she still looks predictably elegant. (It's that Audrey Hepburn thing). I think the color's good on her too.

I keep examining the dress for the "shot of chartreuse" but all I see is the tangerine colour. The dress itself is gorgeous -- if it was in black everybody'd be falling all over it but you wouldn't see the detail as well.

I wish I looked "hippy" like she does in this very lovely dress that makes her look "curvy" and sexy, i rate her a winner

I'd call that color "American Cheese Yellow" or "Kraft Dinner Yellow" or maybe "Cheese Whiz Yellow".

No matter how you slice it, it's cheesy. Although I do think it looks good on her. Just not great.
